David passed away peacefully at home on Christmas Eve. The love of his life for 38 years, his wife, Michelle Salamino Hawley was by his side. Along with David's new found friend "Blue". The loved ones that predeceased and survive him know who you are, David wanted this to be about the people closest to him and who were there for him through the end. Those who knew him know that he was an Eagle Scout who loved the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, riding hard, and those weekends of heavy target practice. For 30 years David loved his job at Stork H&E, where he was a self taught EDM genius. He is truly grateful to all of of his H&E family for everything they did for us and continue to keep doing. To the Bellinger family, our Godsends, who made this all possible for him to remain at home. A huge thank you to Christina and Miss Sierra Jacoby for all the showers that always made my day. To Jim and Heather King, you literally carried me through. I never could have asked for better best friends. I was honored to be your best man. To all of the Brooktondale Community, especially the girls of the Brooktons Market, thank you for the caring and continued support of my wife Michelle, she truly loves you all and now I understand why. To Valerie Ann, Kelly, and Christina, thank you for spending nights then and even now with Michelle to help her through. To Brewster for the donuts. To Bret and Mary for the cheesecake, thank you! The many visits from Robert Johnson meant the world, thanks to you and your family for all that you have done for me. Finally, the Hospicare family for learning Michelle and helping her to take care of me. You are truly a special group of people. Any donations in David's name may be made to Hospicare, 172 East King Road, Ithaca, NY 14850. A celebration of David's life will be announced later this summer.
